Stan Burns is a professional musician who honed his skills in the regimental bands of the Green Howards and the Grenadier Guards where he led the regimental dance bands and played at investitures at Buckingham Palace. After leaving the army as an A1 musician and as a qualified music teacher he completed his studies with two years at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama which enabled him to teach at schools.

He has taught in Essex and East London at schools such as the renowned Coopers Company and Coborn School in Upminster and at Five Elms School in Dagenham. He also worked with the London Borough of Barking's Saturday morning music school to teaching clarinet and saxophone to Grade 8 level and above and helped form the Schools Big Band which featured children aged from 7 to 18.

He has played as a session musician, has toured with the big bands and featured in TV and radio music productions.

In 1990 after coming “off the road” Stan set up his own music school and in 2000 moved to the private studio in Rainham with the aim to extend the teaching possibilities and to apply his own unique style to learning to master clarinet and sax.
